Terms of Use

Last updated 11 July 2026

The short version

Use Riplytics to browse cards and track your collection. Don’t scrape it, don’t break it, don’t pretend to be someone else.

We work hard to get the catalog right and we will get things wrong anyway. Nothing here is financial advice, and nothing here is a valuation. Cards are worth what someone pays for them, and we’re not that person.

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and John Lord (Washington, USA), who operates Riplytics. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.

2. Your account and your collection

You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Don’t impersonate anyone, don’t share your sign-in, and tell us if you think someone else is using it.

Your collection data is yours. What you own, what you’re hunting, what you paid, your notes — you typed it in and you can take it out or delete it whenever you want. We won’t hold it hostage.

You grant us permission to use your want-list signals in anonymous, aggregated form — as described in our Privacy Policy. Never individually. Never identifiably.

3. This is not financial advice, and it is not a valuation

Riplytics is an information tool. It is not an appraiser, a broker, a dealer, or an investment adviser, and nothing on it is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, grade, or open anything.

Trading cards are an unregulated, illiquid, volatile market. People lose money in it routinely. Any decision you make with money is yours, and the consequences are yours.

We currently publish no prices at all, precisely because we don’t yet have data we’re willing to stand behind. If and when we do publish prices, statistics, odds, or estimates, they will be exactly that — estimates, derived from imperfect data, offered without warranty, and never a promise of what anything will sell for.

4. The catalog will have mistakes in it

We build the catalog from publisher data, public sources, and hard-won hobby knowledge, and we correct it constantly. It will still contain errors — a mislabeled rarity, a missing promo, a variant we haven’t told apart yet.

The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. If you find something wrong, tell us — corrections are genuinely the most valuable thing you can give us.

5. Affiliate links

Riplytics may participate in affiliate programs, including the eBay Partner Network. If you follow a link from our site to a marketplace and buy something, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Where that applies, it will be disclosed on the page.

What we show you is never for sale. No merchant, seller, or partner can pay to change a card’s data, its rarity, its ranking, or what Riplytics says about it. Commissions do not influence the catalog, and never will.

6. Card names, art, and publisher rights

Card names, images, and game content are the property of their respective publishers — Bandai, The Pokémon Company, Wizards of the Coast, Riot Games, Fantasy Flight, and others. Riplytics is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or produced by any of them.

We display this material to identify and catalog cards. If you are a rights holder and have a concern, email contact@riplytics.com and we will respond promptly and in good faith.

7. What you may not do

  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract the catalog. If you want the data, ask — partnerships@riplytics.com. We’d rather have a conversation than an arms race.
  • Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site.
  • Use Riplytics to deceive anyone, including about a card’s identity or condition.
  • Resell or redistribute the catalog as your own product.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, John Lord is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Riplytics — including, plainly, any money you lose buying, selling, grading, or ripping trading cards.

We are a catalog. You are the one holding the wallet.

9. Changes, and getting in touch

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we’ll say so clearly and date it rather than slipping it in.
